Making disciples who share and show the transforming power of the gospel.
One of the best ways to magnify Jesus is by making disciples. Simply put, a disciple is one who follows Jesus by trusting, loving, and obeying Him.
Disciples love what Jesus loves.
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
So, we share Jesus with our mouths and show Jesus with our lives to accomplish this mission.
In sharing and showing Jesus to others, we share and show the transforming power of the gospel. Jesus changes lives as we believe and receive the good news about who He is and what He's done for us. As we believe and receive this good news through faith in Jesus, God saves us from our sin and transforms our hearts and lives. The Bible says this gospel of God's grace shown to sinners like us through His Son is the power of God for saving to everyone who believes and receives. Because this gospel is the power of God, it is of first importance to us, and we make sharing and showing the transforming power of the gospel our mission.
